I never wanted to run a marathon but I will for my Mom, for Gilda’s Club and for You
I never wanted to run a marathon because I love running too much. I knew I could run that far but I did not want to hurt myself proving it. Then I got hurt – hit by a car outside my house, left unconscious, bleeding in the street with a shattered leg. That was 7 months after my Mom died.
When I found out my Mom had breast cancer, running kept me going. As she got sicker, I ran harder. And after she died, I ran harder than ever. Running helped get me through the hardest time of my life. And so did Gilda’s Club.
I began thinking about running the New York Marathon after my first run 51 weeks after my accident. But I needed more of a reason to run than simply proving that I could. Then I found out I could run for Gilda’s Club. Gilda’s Club helped me to live when my my Mom had cancer. Gilda’s Club helped me to keep living after my Mom had died. Gilda’s Club is there to help the whole community affected by cancer. Gilda’s Club helps us to live in a world with cancer.
Please help me to help Gilda’s Club help us all. Support me in my effort to run the 2010 New York City Marathon as I run for my Mom, for Gilda’s Club and for you!
SUPPORT ME IN 2021!

I had never wanted to run a marathon before. After my Mom died and after being hit by a car, I had many reasons to run. […]
